6DOF is short for Six Degrees of Freedom.
​Six degrees of freedom (6DOF) refers to the ability to change position in three lateral directions and three rotational directions:
Tx - forward/back (surge)
Ty - left/right (sway)
Tz - up/down (heave)
Rx - tilt sideways (roll)
Ry - tilt forward/backward (pitch)
Rz - turn left/right (yaw)
